PARKOUR
Since 2007, Nadia Lesy has brought Parkour from the streets to the stage and screen with her company Bullettrun. She serves as Bullettrun’s artistic director and choreographer. Her organization’s projects are made possible by the collaborative participation of the New York Parkour community and other, like minded professional artists.In addition to creating multimedia performances and short films, Bullettrun also promotes Parkour culture through social media, "Gym Jams", photography, short documentaries, articles, educational outreach and career development projects.
DANCE PERFORMANCE
In addition to Nadia Lesy’s artistic career as a video maker and choreographer, she works as a freelance videographer and editor. A fellow artist herself, she understands the importance of capturing every moment live onstage and preserving it for the future.
COLLABORATIONS
Nadia Lesy has collaborated with other choreographers to create unique video projects. These works include dance video, stage projection and multimedia installations.
AFTER EFFECTS
In addition to video and editing, Nadia Lesy integrates After Effects with her projects, in the process transforming her subjects and the environment they inhabit.
CHOREOGRAPHY
Since 2007, Nadia Lesy has choreographed and directed Parkour shows. In 2009 she established Bullettrun, a multimedia Parkour performance group that brings Parkour from the streets to the stage and screen.
Bullettrun produces live shows that are presented in theaters, galleries and in non traditional settings, such as a a high school gymnasium and city parks.
Bullettrun has received the Village Voice Choice Award, The NY International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award (for "Unique Theatrical Event") and has been written about in Theater Mania and featured in the Hampshire College Alumni magazine and website.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Like many independent film makers, Nadia Lesy became interested in the creative possibilities of shooting video on a DSLR camera. Such cameras were originally intended to shoot stills, and it was only a natural that she began to photograph her subjects.
